I’ve always loved to cook and love inspiring others to eat healthier. Holy Delish welcomes all types of eaters but mainly focuses on healthy recipes made from plants. Here you will find easy to make, flavor filled dishes that truly satisfy every craving!

About Shannon Dee - Founder of Holy Delish

I have always loved cooking and was self-certified as a top food critic by the age of seven. My grandma was a professional cook and my mom was an avid baker and sauerkraut maker. I guess you could say the love for good food is in my genes.

It wasn’t until I participated in a 21 day fast with my church that I began to realize the profound effects that food can have on our health. During this time I discovered that many of my life long ailments were caused by food sensitivities and intolerances.

My interest peaked, I took a deep dive into nutrition and even went back to college to get a degree in holistic nutrition and wellness. I was almost finished with my degree when my mom suddenly passed away from cancer. At that moment I knew I had to help others with the knowledge that I had gained.

My life however took a different turn after my mom’s death. It took a major health scare of my own to turn me back to my nutritional education and faith to create a plan for getting my health back on track.

I was able to lose 20 pounds of fat, lower my blood pressure from stage two hypertension to normal, and lower my heart rate from 95 beats per minute to 72… all without medication, counting calories, depriving myself, or spending countless hours in the gym.

I started holydelish.com to share my plan and recipes with others so they too can improve their health without feeling deprived or like they are missing out.

I know life can get busy so I try to keep all recipes as quick and as easy as possible.

Most recipes on Holy Delish take less than 30 minutes and only one bowl (or pot) to make. You will also find many make-ahead and meal prep options.

90% of my recipes are healthy with a focus on whole food plant based ingredients.

Life is all about balance, so you’ll also find some not so healthy recipes on Holy Delish. I like to think of these special occasion recipes as good for the soul.

Healthy eating doesn't have to mean bland. All recipes here are packed with flavor.

Before any recipe makes it onto the blog it must first pass my ‘punch you in the mouth with flavor and make you say holy, DELISH!’ test. No exceptions!

Before posting a recipe I test, test, test to ensure it works every time for everyone.

Nothing is more frustrating than a recipe that looks amazing in photos but in reality is a big ole’ dud. Rest assured, there won’t be any wasted ingredients here!
